무엇을, 왜 모으는지

한국어 번역은 준비 중이에요. 그때까지는 아래 영어 원문이 적용돼요. 궁금한 점은 맨 아래 연락처로 물어봐 주세요.

GottaTry is run by Junsik Shim, who is responsible for your data here. Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 applies. Your video, your location and your device identifier are all personal data — this is what happens to each.

2초 영상

It is the review. We store it, show it to other people, and keep it while the review is live. Your original upload is deleted 30 days after we process it — long enough to fix a processing bug without asking you to film again.

We strip location and device metadata from every clip before publishing it. Phones write your coordinates into video files; we do not pass that on.

Film the food, not the people around you. If you appear in someone else’s clip, report it and we will remove it.

찍은 위치

We read your location while you film, and use it once: to work out how far you were from the place. A review says a dish was good at a place, so we check the clip was made there and refuse the ones that were not.

Your exact coordinates are never published, never shown to other users and never returned by our API. Only the distance is kept, and only moderators can see it.

Location is required to post. Decline it and you can still read everything, report a review, export your data and delete your account.

내 정보

Posting needs an account, whatever the rating: a review names a specific business, and someone should stand behind it. You sign in with Google, and we keep your email address, name and picture — nothing else.

Reading needs no account. If you report a review without one, we identify you by a cookie plus a salted hash of coarse browser characteristics — enough to apply rate limits, not enough to identify you elsewhere. We do not store the raw values.

The map remembers where you last looked, in a cookie on your device: the centre of the map and how far it was zoomed, to about 100 metres. It is where you looked, not where you are. Your browser sends it so the map opens there again; we do not keep it.

If you choose a language in the menu, a cookie remembers it, so the next page opens in that language. If you are signed in, your account remembers it too, and the download of your data includes it.

모두의 리뷰로 알게 되는 것

Every rating and price you post also becomes part of our figures: how a dish is rated, what it costs, and how both change over time. We use those figures to run GottaTry, and we may use them for research or share them with others — publishers, researchers or businesses — including for payment.

Only totals and averages leave GottaTry. They never include your name, your account, your video, your caption or where you were, and a menu item’s figures are only released once at least five different people have reviewed it, so no one’s rating can be picked out.

Released figures cannot be recalled. If you erase your data, your ratings stop counting in everything we work out from then on, but a total released before that stays as it was. Details about places — names, addresses and what they sell — are not about you, and we may share them too.

내가 할 수 있는 것

Download everything we hold about you, or have it erased, right here. Both work without an account too — a right only account holders can use is not a right.

Anything else — a question, a correction, a complaint — write to junsik.shim@gmail.com.

Erasure is immediate and permanent: your reviews and their videos are deleted, not hidden. Ratings you gave stop counting towards any dish’s score.

We keep backups of our database so that a failure does not lose everyone’s reviews. A copy of your data can remain in those backups for up to 14 days after erasure, until they are deleted on schedule. They are used only to recover from a failure, and they are never public.
